today + yesterday

i think we are finally on the road to recovery.  the boys are not 100% better, but they are better than they were yesterday.  any improvement is good for me.  cash's rash is starting to fade a little and his fever seems to finally have broken.  slade doesn't seem to have any rash left at all and no fever.  the only thing that they still are for sure is cranky!  oh well, i take the good with the bad, right?

anyways, here's a fun little story for you.

our kitchen, dining room, and living room are open to each other.  there is not a door to our kitchen, just an open passageway, and we keep a gate across it to keep prying little hands out of there.  well, yesterday, shortly before i got home from work, the gate was accidentally left open.  one boy of small stature darted into the kitchen unbeknownst to his father (who was using the restroom), and grabbed a box of baby cereal.  and in that oh-so-brief moment of time, he proceeded to dump the contents of that box EVERYWHERE.  there was a trail of baby cereal from the kitchen to the dining room and then it seemed to explode in the living room because i can not begin to fathom how else he was able to get it in every nook and cranny that he did.  luckily, when i got home, corey had most of it cleaned up already.  but let me tell you, baby cereal is a very fine powder and i am still seeing traces of it everywhere.  and it was a brand new box that i had just bought the evening before, so it was completely full.  even cash and slade had a fine coating on them :)

since it wasn't me that made the discovery, i find the story slightly comical.  i wish corey had thought to grab the camera and snap a few pics.  but i know that he was not laughing when he came out of the bathroom and saw that mess.  i wouldn't have been either.  it's amazing how quickly jagger was able to accomplish all that.  i would like to have seen him do it.  for one thing, he's not tall enough to get things off the kitchen counters, so he had used the broom to knock the box off.  or possibly, all he wanted was the broom in the first place (the boy likes to clean, or at least pretend to clean, remember?) and when he was trying to get it out of the kitchen, knocked over the box of cereal and decided that the cereal looked like more fun.  who knows?!

what i do know is that i'll be finding traces of baby cereal everywhere for the next month at least, and i am making extra sure that the gate is closed behind me when i leave the kitchen.  who knows what he might get into next!

I think we should notify the police.

Maybe a pattern forming here. Breaking & entering, Grand theft, Malicious destruction, Abuse of a cereal, unlicensed painting of little brothers,

Andy
(maybe)
