blasted ohio weather! + potty time + sippy cups

this house is sick again!  all of us have stuffy heads and runny yet stuffed noses.  aches and pains all over.  will we ever be healthy again?!  this weather that goes from freezing to warm every other day is not helping.  i've decided that all i want for christmas is for everyone to be healthy.  on top of the cold, poor slade is having some major constipation issues.  not fun.  it's been a rough couple of days for him.
we did a whole lot of nothing today.  stopped by the grocery store and then just headed home and lounged around.  skipped church because the kids and i are just not well enough and we don't want to spread the cold around.  i did make a batch of citrus sugar cookies (a bit of oj and orange zest in them) but i am not happy with how they turned out.  too dry.  haven't taken any pictures of the kids in a few days because they'd be one big boogery cranky mess and i don't need to document that.
don't be jealous of my fancy schmancy icing skills
after starting out well with potty training jagger, we really dropped the ball the past couple of months.  we weren't being consistent and were skipping days at a time, but we have rededicated ourselves to the project as of last week.  we have a timer that we set to go off every hour.  as soon as jagger hears it he yells "potty time!" and heads toward the bathroom.  i was very discouraged in the beginning because the first couple of days we started this, he didn't go the in the potty at all (and when we very first started training him, he went every time).  I thought we had screwed up big time.  but i bought a bag of marshmallows, showed them to jagger, and told him that when he goes in the potty, he gets one (and only one!).  so since he has an incentive now, he makes sure he goes almost every time :)  he's still not telling us when he needs to go, so i know we have a long way to go, but i am determined to have him potty trained by the time he is 3 (that's in about 7 months).  need to make sure i stick with it.
yummy fruit flavored 'mallows
and last but not least, we are weaning cash and slade off their bottles.  they only get sippy cups now and we have changed from formula to whole milk (i know you're supposed to wait until after they turn 1, but what's 4 weeks?).  big steps.  they actually have taken the change really well.  they do still get a big cup of milk before their naps and bedtime but then they go right down.  i am pleasantly surprised with how well it's going :)
well, i'm off to take some medicine that's sure to knock me out and then to bed.
goodnight.

Just a thought...

Could there be any connection between THIS BLOG... & the LAST one?

Someone starts baking homemade cookies &... everyone gets sick?

Just asking

Holy cow! that's the worst thing I've ever heard. For your information Kristen's "Goods" as you put it, are the best sweets this side of the mississippi. And her "Smell" is the very essence of angels.

HOW DARE YOU!

Incredibly innocent:
